Carey Jones Architects has secured
planning permission for a prestigious £30 million office and residential
development by developers Sterling Capitol Properties, which will transform
one of the most famous gateways to Leeds city centre.
This new building, which is called Mayfair, will feature 272 high-quality
designer one and two-bedroom apartments and three state-of-the-art
penthouses, 35,000 sq ft of office space on three floors, a café /
restaurant on the ground floor and basement car parking.
Work on the demolition of the old Bridge House and Compton House, is due to
start in spring of 2005 and will be replaced by an iconic 30 storey
building. The development is scheduled for completion in 2007.
